EL

CAMPILLO

This housing design brings back the the identity and the history of the place where it is locates: El Campillo, Badajoz (Spain), North-West of the Alcazaba, part of the original development of the Arab city.

Through deep research of the different degrees of privacy of the Arab vernacular architecture, we arrive at the conclusion that their homes are less porous to the outside and more open to the inside.

To mimic this phenomenon, we design a brick façade that separates the houses from the outside and that creates a filter for the light and an in-out space that may be used as part of the houses.
